The Now Oregano Capsules are among the species Origanum vulgare commonly known as wild oregano. These capsules offer the quality and activity of pure Oregano in a convenient capsule form.

    The wild oregano is rich in a long list of minerals including calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, potassium, copper, boron and manganese and vitamins C and A (n-carotene) and niacin.

    The oregano has powerful antibacterial properties, perhaps as a result of volatile oils that contain this herb. Some of these strengths include its volatile oils thymol and carvacrol. Both these substances have been shown to inhibit the growth of many species of bacteria.

    Thanks to carvacrol, the use of oregano may address a range of infections and a variety of fungi. Extensive research has been conducted and found to be an effective treatment for illnesses such as indigestion, Candida (yeast overgrowth), diarrhea, nervous tension, insect bites, toothache, pain from rheumatism in the ears, and bronchitis (primarily for the anticonvulsant effects) among other disorders.

    Researchers have studied yet and oregano as a cure for the common disease bacterium known as Giardia. This common amoeba can cause severe disease in those afflicted. In one study, oregano was more effective in treating Giardia from common prescription drugs tinidazol.

    Oregano has been shown to have more than 42 times the antioxidant activity than apples, 30 times more than potatoes and 12 times more than oranges.
